Evolution

I remember when I was a Democrat, years and years ago, that although there was a somewhat liberal slant to the party, there was still some balance and room for conservative thinking.  Now, Democrat is nearly synonymous with liberal and appears to be trending more and more towards equating to socialist.

Maxine Waters, referring to herself as “this liberal” in the video below, is the latest to openly cross the border on the far end of liberalism into the world of the socialist.

Is that the answer to high oil prices… nationalization or, as she called it, socialization of the oil companies?   I can think of better options.. in fact I’ve proposed some solutions on this blog.  Can you imagine the loud chorus of Bush-bashers shouting from the media rooftops if President Bush had suggested the US government would consider taking over ANY private company?  On the other hand.. maybe they would think he had come to his senses since clearly everything from health care to investing our Social Security funds should, in their view, be controlled by the government…  we can not be trusted to make such important decisions on our own.  I suppose that explains why Dems have superdelegates; must protect us from making a bad decision by ensuring those who know best have a significant say in who the Dems choose to run for president.

From Wikianswers.. a view of shy superdelegates need to exist:

It is a representative means of completing a nomination via respected party leaders designed to balance the popular vote which can largely be unfamiliar with the realities of politics as well as uninformed on issues and actual candidate background and behavior.

Thank goodness the Democrats are there to protect us all from ourselves…  and when they take over the oil industry, I suppose we will all sleep peaceful in the knowledge that politics will drive the price and availability for oil and fuel instead of economics… how comforting.

Also Blogging: Amy Proctor thinks liberals like Maxine Waters fun (tongue in cheek I’m sure)
