Has this ever happened to you?
Your with a friend and you are ordering a meal or maybe dessert. You order first, maybe just a scoop of vanilla ice cream, playing it safe, totally satisfied with your selection…
Then your friend orders a banana split with three toppings, whipped cream, a cherry on top and suddenly you are wishing you hadn’t ordered the vanilla candidate .. err dessert.
Lucky for you, the waiter is still standing there and you can change your mind.
Not so with Obama. Joe Biden is his choice and changing now would be disastrous… unless Biden suddenly withdraws for “health reasons” or “personal reasons”. But even that would seem somewhat contrived.
So here is poor Barack, choosing Biden because it would help him counter all the criticism about his lack of experience (or at least that’s the theory, don’t see how it helps much in reality), and BOOM!… McCain chooses Governor Palin… fresh… tough… and oh yeah, did I mention she’s a woman?
That’s got to hurt. There had to be a long list of better candidates for the Dem VP nod if only they did not have to play defense with the pick.
This is getting interesting
