Eric & Dr. Slogan, welcome.

Obama does indeed bring different policies than we have seen over the last 8 years. You would need to go back tot he Carter administration to find policies somewhat equivalent to Obama's proposals... not an era I am interested in returning to anytime soon.

Would you concede that, following 9/11, the policies of the Bush administration have prevented us from entering into a major recession and perhaps a depression, factoring in the major hit on our financial markets, businesses impacted by travel all but halting, fear, etc. People forget how bad it was.

Regarding the current mess, plenty of blame to go around, but ignoring the role of Dodd and Frank (and to some extent Obama) is a huge mistake.

Regarding taxcuts, how do "we know" they only benefitted the top 5%. I'm no where near in the top 5% and I pay less taxes. The fact is that raising taxes on the "top 5%" will not generate enough revenue to cover all of Obama's spending programs, so either he is lying about what he plans to spend (and breaking promises again as he did with the promise to participate in public campaign financing), or he is lying about who will see tax increases. Also, increasing taxes will not necessarily increase revenue. During the short-term, it probably will, but as increased taxes drive down the tax base, revenues will decrease. Historically, cutting taxes stimulates growth, grows the base, and increases revenue. Our problem is not that we have less revenue coming in, it is that our current administarion and congress spend too much.

Obama has one of the earmark kings in only his first few years in congress, what makes you think he will change? Because he says he will? McCain has a proven track record, Obama has words.

Time to give back? No, giving and taking are not the same thing... check out the post on this that explains the difference.

I wish I could sit down with you and help you to see that you are being conned by a master of the art, schooled and tested in the forge of Chicago politics. Please do yourself a favor and look into his record to see what he has accomplished, not what he says he will do. Look at what he has promised in the past and what he has delivered on. He spends a lot of energy ensuring the press can not have access to basic information like college transcripts, medical records, etc... he wants you to vote for who he says he is, because you would never vote for who he really is. There is a very good chance Obama will be our next president, and I for one will be very impressed that he was able to fool most of the people most of the time.

Obama brings something new to the board; it’s not the same tired policy we have seen these past 8 years in where failed policies have gotten good young American men killed for a war with false and untrue premises. For economic policies which cut taxes and are stated to benefit the working American and yet we all know the only people who benefit are the top 5 percent. Call me selfish but Obama's plan to tax that 5 percent is long coming and very much deserving...these people have been reaping the benefits of the imbecilic polices of W. for 8 years. People! Its time to give back! This video I believe sort of over emphasis what the youth of America is thinking, which is its time for change! I have never voted, I'm 23 and this has been the first time I have ever been inspired to do so. Bottom line if you really think that a 72 year old president and a religious extremist are the fit people to run this country than perhaps you should look at your moral and structural fiber a bit better. This country was founded by unselfish brilliant people who knew and care massively about the overall true human good, why don’t we let somebody come into office that much more closely resembles that? Obama/Biden 08.

This is the preview for things to come if Obama is elected.

It also higlights a major aspect of this election. It is not fact driven. It’s not that facts don’t matter. It’s that people who need to hear then the most (those who still don’t know how far-left Obama really is) don’t get these facts from the media. They don’t go to the blogs like this, they don’t read long data rich threads, they don’t watch scary YouTube kids-singing videos. We keep going down in polls because people listen to the huge propaganda machine–and take that BS at face value. What we need is an arsenal of conversation changers. These attention grabbers that make an impact in 5 sec. And THEN those whose opinions still can be changed may start reading more. Obama’s side if excellent in this. They have pros working around the clock on all sorts of visuals that go straight to the emotions level, bypassing the logic. Just take a look at this site to know what I’m talking about.

Can you name a single memorable anti-Obama poster that speaks to the center-leaning Democratic voter? I can’t. And to expose who Obama really is we need some of that. With my new blog and Facebook page I’ve started a new repository to fill this gap and hope it will take off and will be used. Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

A reminder on commenting policy for those who may be surprised that a one or two word comment somehow did not get posted... bottom line, if you want to share a view, position, opinion... great. Calling me names doesn't quite fit within the rules. Keep it civil:

Initial comments need to be approved before they will be displayed to make certain the post is not from a spam engine. After your first approved comment, you will be able to comment freely (within the rules).

Keep it clean, don’t be abusive, keep arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times and please wait until the ride comes to a complete stop before entering and exiting…

I reserve the right to delete any comments for any reason.
