OK, maybe not news to you and me, but I must admit I was stunned to read the results of this survey by Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.
When asked which party controls the House of Representatives:
More than 50 percent of Americans knew that the Democrats have a majority in the House, while 42 percent could identify the secretary of state (Condoleezza Rice). Less than 30 percent could name the prime minister of Great Britain (Gordon Brown).
They also broke the results out by news audience:
The New Yorker/Atlantic: 71 percent (correctly identified Democrats as the majority in the House),
NPR: 73 percent
Hannity & Colmes: 84 percent
Rush Limbaugh: 83 percent
Colbert Report: 73 percent
Daily Show: 65 percent
NewsHour: 66 percent
O’Reilly Factor: 70 percent
C-SPAN: 63 percent
Letterman/Leno: 51 percent
CNN: 59 percent
National Enquirer: 44 percent
59% of CNN viewers know the Dems control the house?!?!?
Not surprisingly, Rush and Hannity/Colmes viewers scored higher than all other viewers.
Why is this significant? Well, it helps to explain how, according to RCP, the congressional approval rating is only 14% while the generic congressional vote survey gives Dems a 47-38 edge.
Folks think congress sucks but they don’t hold the Dems responsible for the poor performance because they are clueless…. they don’t even know the Dems control both houses.
Unbelievable… maybe the RNC should just run ads telling people who controls congress.

Not surprising, is it, the mouthpieces of Obama have audiences who are so uninformed.
But it’s not just those uninformeds who drag down our country.
It’s everyone who speaks of the government as if it’s something of which they have not stake or part.
That kind of ignorance and complacency knows no boundaries.
You’re right. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised… frustrating though.
