Are you better off today than you were before two years of Dem control?

Two years ago, I started tracking two of the key areas that Pelosi and Reid promised would improve if we gave the Democrats a majority in the House and Senate.  As we prepare to go to the polls on Tuesday, while the Democrats ask if we are better off today than we were four years ago with Bush as president, perhaps we should be asking ourselves: Are we better off today than two years ago when the Democrats took control of Congress.

Think about it, who controls the budget?  Who decides what laws will pass, what laws will never see the light of day?  Who decides if nominated judges will be confirmed?

Congress!

For the Democrats to walk away from any responsibility after promising that electing them would lead to improvements in unemployment, gas prices, the economy, etc. is disingenuous at best.

So, what do you think?  Better off today than two years ago.  Here are two charts, historical  unemployment and gasoline prices, for your consideration (click charts to enlarge):

Note that unemployment and gas prices both went up AFTER the Democrats took control of Congress.  In fact, things were pretty good when Bush had a small majority of Republicans in the Huse and Senate.

Think about that before you turn over our country to Obama, Biden, Pelosi and Reid.

Stumble it!

I am not better off now than 2 years ago, but I AM better off now than when Bill Clinton was in office. That is a fact.

You will always find the result you want to find, if you just put the right glaases in front of your eyes. Your analysis just looks at a tiny part of the reality and falls awfully short of the big picture. Sleep well in your tiny cut-out world.

Why thank you Michael. On the other hand, this tiny cut out world focused on two campaign promises that the Dems made two years ago that they used as a hammer along with the Iraq war as reasons for voting Dems into power.

Now two years later, they are still blaming Bush as if they have no control over the situation.

I apologize for not having the time to pull together charts for every indicator… but feel free to do some research on your own.

These charts do provide a clear picture of two key indicators that the Dems promised would improve under their leadership. The first, unemployment, is pretty damn important to most. The second, gasoline prices, drives everything in our economy. Gas prices go up, prices of goods follow, travel goes down, industries suffer, economy tanks.

I didn’t choose these glasses. Nancy Pelosi & Co chose them 2 years ago… I just chose to continue looking through them and hold them to their promises… imagine that.

Michael do you get it the congress rights laws and does the budget. The main area the president has power is as commander in chief, and even then all the funding comes from congress. So you need to go back to dream land and stay there because xxxx xxxx xxxxxx you don’t have the slightest clue of what is going on in the country.
