Thank you Arlen

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

I have been considering a move to the Republican Party recently.

After leaving the Democratic Party 15 years ago, I pretty much decided to stay unaffiliated.  But I had grown so disenamored of Arlen Specter that I was considering registering Republican just so I could vote against him in the primary.

Then came his vote for the huge Obama/Pelosi spending bill:  Might as well vote for a Democrat

That pretty much did it for me.  I would be surrendering my independence to send a message that siding with the far left wing of the Democratic Party was not acceptable to this constituent.

So now that he is returning to the Democratic Party (he switched once before when running for office), I can remain happily independent.

So… thank you Arlen.

Now that’s leadership!

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

President Obama is ordering an internal review to find out how the decision was made to buzz the Statue of Liberty and the WTC memorial with an Air Force One backup and F16’s.

Wow!  A review!  Now we’ll get to the bottom of this!

Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina is leading the review, which of course implies there will be a team of people digging into this to get to the truth.  Excellent!

The American people should expect nothing less from a group of rookies who almost appear to really believe that their daily gaffes are accomplishments.

Now this may sound like a crazy idea… but … since we already know that the White House Military Office approved this little thrill ride through the skies of NY/NJ, why not drag the head of that office into the Oval Office and ask him what the F___ happened?  Does this administration really need to form a committee to determine how this administration made a decision?  How did they decide they needed a committee to find out how a decision was made?  Did they need a committee to decide to form the committee to find out how the decision was made before they decided to form the committee?

Nothing against Jim Messina, who I thought was better back when he was with Kenny Loggins, but I don’t really think his services are needed here…

Oh… by the way.  This most transparent administration of all time is not sure that they will be releasing the results of Messina’s findings… they need to check with the White House lawyers first.  If I’m those lawyers, I’m proceeding with caution lest any recommendation I provide be the subject of a witch hunt down the road.

Quick Thoughts: Are you freakin’ kiddin’ me?

Number One

Update: another view…  if you don’t think this is a big deal, check out the fear this caused, and for what?

YouTube Preview Image

That’s the PG version of the headline here…

What the F___ were they thinking?  Obama’s backup Airforce One plane takes a low flight path over NYC with fighter escorts because of what?  A photo op?  Who the F___ thought that was a brilliant idea? :

This little stunt led to the evacuation of several buildings in NYC and Jersey City…

Guess that whole 9/11 thing is so far in the past now who would even think something like this could cause any kind of angst, right?  Helps to explain a lot though, doesn’t it…

Number Two

You think maybe now President Obama will consider actually memorizing his speeches, go with note cards to help remember key points, or maybe speak from the heart on occasion:

How embarrassing… not just for him, but for us.

Great reader, weak leader.  Take away the script, and his just like any other actor without his writers… lost.

Sec. of State Clinton: Bush Policy in Iraq Overwhelming Success

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

OK.. that’s not quite what she said, but she might as well have said it because the alternative is that team Obama has somehow managed to turn Iraq around in 100 days without lifting a finger:

Fox News: “I think in Iraq there will always be political conflicts, there will always be, as in any society, sides drawn between different factions, but I really believe Iraq as a whole is on the right track,” she said, citing “overwhelming evidence” of “really impressive” progress.

So for all you Bush haters keeping score out there…

Iraq is now an ally instead of an enemy.

Iraq is no longer an oppressive regime.

Iraq no longer has Uday and Qusay torturing men and women for sport.

Iraq is no long a state sponsor of terrorism.

And to think… just a few months ago, Harry Reid was declaring defeat and Obama was demanding we pull out all forces immediately…  good thing we had a president who didn’t agree that America should cut and run from this fight.

A Nuclear Taliban?

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

According to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton:

FoxNews: “I think that the Pakistani government is basically abdicating to the Taliban and to the extremists. But look at why this is happening,” she told the House Foreign Affairs Committee. “If you talk to people in Pakistan, especially in the ungoverned territories, which are increasing in number, they don’t believe the state has a judiciary system that works.”

That’s the answer all right.  If Pakistan, or any country for that matter, wants to prevent terrorists from taking over, they need a judiciary system that works.

Yeah, that’ll stop ‘em.  Arrest the Taliban, throw their butts in jail.

I hope President Barack Hussein Obama has a better plan than that.  Are we really counting on Pakistan to prevent a Taliban takeover?

Isn’t this just a wee bit too important to wait and hope that verbal admonishments from the US Secretary of State in front of a House subcommittee will somehow wake up Pakistan and they will fix their judiciary system, thereby stopping the Taliban in their tracks?

Let’s consider, for the moment, the remote chance that a better judiciary in Pakistan will, against all odds, not prevent the Taliban from getting their hands on some of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.. then what?

HRC and BHO spend so much time pointing to the perceived failures of the Bush administration, they are totally blinded to their mounting failures….  and we may all pay the price for their arrogant, narcissist induced ignorance.

Pray they wake up before the Taliban has some new toys… the alternative may be the first nuclear exchange in the history of our planet…

And that would be very bad for Mother Earth…

Remember 9/11

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Seems like the current administration has either forgotten what it was like when we were attacked on 9/11, believes we got what we deserved, or just doesn’t really believe national security is something that trumps the discomfort of terrorists.

It is very important that, as we watch past mistakes being repeated by the Obama administration, we don’t forget that it was the evisceration of our intelligence agencies that started in the 70’s that led to the lack of actionable information and left us more vulnerable to the 9/11 attack.

The result of this lack of intelligence was horrific…

Debate all you want about whether coercive interrogation techniques like water-boarding is torture, but when you do so, keep in mind that on 9/11 thousands of innocent citizens were killed by these terrorists, and they are ready and willing to attack us again given the opportunity.  Don’t hold your breath waiting for them to sign up for the Geneva Conventions folks.

9/11

I wasn’t there, know some who were.

Witnessed the attack on US mainland live on Fox & Friends, will never forget how it felt to see our whole world change.

Echoes remain, sadness so deep overwhelms this day every year.  Passage of time no defense.

How can we forget; should we ever forget…

Not in this lifetime.

.

UPDATE 4/28/09:  Hard to believe this administration really gets it when they pull stunts like this:

Quick Thought: Miss USA Miss

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Normally… wouldn’t care even a wee bit.  Actually, still don’t, at least not about the Miss USA contest.

However….

If the judges are going to have a litmus test based upon highly charged issues such as gay marriage, abortion rights, or whatever sends tingles up and down their legs, perhaps they should consider listing the thoughts, opinions and positions that all contestants must acquiesce to on the application so opponents of the prevailing one-think will refrain from entering the pageant in the first place.

It would be so much cleaner for all involved if they could ensure that the pageant cookie cutter stamps out only those among us who believe the right things.

Perhaps with pageants leading the way, as they always do, our society can become much more harmonious as we ensure that jobs, access to food, perhaps all of our precious resources, are all provided on the basis of the purity of our thoughts…

We are fast approaching a time where, if you don’t think the way “they” want you to, “they” are going to take away opportunity, rights and privileges.

You want to get that job, here’s what you need to think.

You want a chance to be Miss USA, here are the correct answers to the questions.

You want medical care, come to me for I am the source.

Every step they take, every move they make…
