And?
This is a headline? This is news?
From Yahoo/AP:
There was no trip to New York and no fancy outing as the Obamas celebrated their first wedding anniversary since they moved to the White House.
Instead they kept it simple, with a dinner out Saturday night at an elegant, American-fare restaurant near Georgetown. The evening was balmy and the moon almost full.
Oh the sacrifice…
Doesn’t the White House have phenomenal chefs? If this was your first year int he White House, would the novelty of spending time in the White House have already worn off if it was you?
George and Laura Bush celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2007… can’t seem to find that even mentioned in the press… so presidential wedding anniversaries don’t appear to qualify as news.
So… I guess the fact that the Obama’s did not fly to some other city at taxpayer expense must be the news here.
President Barack Obama stayed in all day before taking a motorcade with Michelle Obama to the Blue Duck Tavern to mark their 17th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Obama stepped into the restaurant wearing a backless knee-length dress while the president wore a dark suit.
Last year, the Obamas also had an understated anniversary with a simple dinner out in downtown Chicago. The Obamas were married Oct. 3, 1992 in a ceremony at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.
Nope… looks like the news is all about the Obama’s anniversary.
That’s the news… the Obama’s went out to dinner. Seriously.
Is anyone else getting the impression this presidency is all about expensive trips to support special causes, nights out on the town, golfing every weekend, hosting gala affairs every Wednesday, setting deadlines for Congress (that are never enforced), telling us how much better our lives are with Obama leading us, occasionally finding time to chat with military folks to check in on how goes the war, and reminding everyone that anything that is bad in our lives is because of George Bush…
Who says we don’t have royalty in this country…
