The far right wingnuts are at it again.
Earlier this year President Barack Obama was accused of bowing to the Saudi King. The White House explained, quite plausibly I might add, that President Obama was merely reaching down to shake hands: “It wasn’t a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he’s taller than King Abdullah”.
Well folks, here we go again. President Obama, showing his incredible compassion for the Japanese Emperor, bent over to remove a splinter from the emperor’s hand. This is now being construed as Obama, yet again, bowing to another world leader.
OK… based on the photo I saw, thought for sure it was a splinter removal procedure being conducted. But the video does make it seem like a bow.
And so what if he did?
If he is going to invite the world to you-know-what the USA, might as well assume the position.
