… but first team Obama/Reid/Pelosi need to recognize that bleeding the patient does little more than feed the leeches.

We can not “stimulate” the economy by draining money from the private sector to inject it into the public sector; the only thing that will be stimulated is the growth of government at the expense of the patient we are supposedly trying to save.

The cure is obvious: we must infuse the private sector with available cash that can be invested in growing jobs that will be self-supporting via a revenue stream that does not require a steady influx of funds from the government, aka taxpayer dollars.

The money from the “stimulus” should be redirected to across the board tax cuts for businesses (perish the thought) with some strings and incentives to keep them honest… the goal is long-term employment, not make-work jobs with an expiration date.

The only possible explanation for not providing the patient with the life-blood required for a recovery is that the patient is not the real priority of this administration.

Unemployment is higher than the peak that was predicted/promised with the passing of the “stimulus”, so of course the reason MUST be that the economy was worse than team Obama knew… couldn’t be that the stimulus is a failure.

I can not recall a new presidency that has tried to define what it is not more than team Obama. Seems like we keep hearing the same tired rhetoric about how the Obama administration will be different than the “failed” Bush administration.

Unfortunately, the “failed” label is somewhat of a myth… a fair review of the facts, sans emotion, proves this out for the majority of his tenure. The major economic downturn did not occur until the final two years, during the same time-frame that the Dems controlled congress.

President Obama, Vice President Biden… Time to stop trying to make everything you do seem like a breath of fresh air by constantly pointing at Bush and holding your nose.

But, alas, Joe Biden is not one to hide his light under a bushel. So, for the next four years, we will likely be treated to frequent uncomfortable or embarrassing situations that will almost certainly far surpass the quantity and quality of recent VP gaffes. Didn’t take long for the first (post inauguration… we’re cutting him some slack and won’t count the pre-election gaffes):

Click here to view the embedded video.

This actually counts as a double. First, he had no clue what his role was or why they were there in front of the cameras. Then, to brush off that embarrassment with a bit of humor, he made a joke about the confusion between Obama and Roberts during the swearing in ceremony. Problem is, Obama has been very gracious about the situation, choosing to not place any blame with the Chief Justice. You could see by the look on the President’s face, by his body language, by the gesture of touching Biden’s arm to try to stop him from going any further… Obama was none too pleased.

So… a bit less than two days in and Biden has scored 2 points on the gaffe-o-meter. Way to go!

Have you seen this NY Post article by Ralph Peters? Probably won’t change any minds (nothing seems to be getting through to folks under Obama’s spell… actually fascinating, but scary):

OBAMA 2012: HIS TRIUMPHS ABROAD – OUR GREATEST FOREIGN POLICY PRESIDENT?: Looking back on the four years of his first administration, President Obama can be proud: He made the US welcome among the family of nations again; he reduced our reliance on military force; and he gave us peace by reaching sensible accommodations with our enemies.

The lies told about him in the 2008 election were exposed as sheer bigotry. Far from being “soft on radical Islam,” President Obama was the first world leader to welcome Jewish refugees after Iran’s nuclear destruction of Israel’s major cities (his only caveat – a fair one – was the refusal to accept Zionist military officers and their families, in light of Israel’s excessive retaliation).

He also demonstrated his resolve in the face of extremism when he overruled the obstructionist advice of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and ordered our military to cross the border into Pakistan in force. The subsequent debacle, as Pakistan cut off supply routes to Afghanistan and threatened a nuclear response, was entirely the fault of our generals on the ground, not of the administration.

Fortunately, President Obama’s willingness to talk to our enemies rescued the situation. After laying down their arms, our troops were allowed to evacuate Pakistan and Afghanistan in peace. The Taliban’s return to power in Kabul did not result in an excessive bloodbath, and al Qaeda is not permitted the unrestricted freedom it enjoyed in the country prior to 2001.

Or this from Jonah Goldberg?

OBAMA 2012: FOUR YEARS LATER – A LOOK BACK AT HIS PRESIDENCY: … nothing prepared the country for some of former Vice President Biden’s comments while in office. Early on, when he told the Russian foreign minister he’d “rather punch a nun in the throat” than cooperate on an Iranian nuclear deal, the Obama administration knew they had a problem on their hands.

The strange comments and behavior kept coming: at an international summit on child poverty, he accused the Dalai Lama of issuing a “brain fart,” he phoned Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts at home and called him a “[re]tard in short pants,” and of course the several stories – clearly leaked by aides to the president – of Mr. Biden sitting in the president’s chair in the Oval Office and being more than reluctant to get out when asked to do so by the president.

<snip>

A general consensus among political observers is that Obama’s essential problem was that he was oversold and too naive and arrogant to realize he wasn’t as his most devoted fans believed. A senior Democrat on Capitol Hill marveled: “In 2008, this guy promised to send everyone to college, vastly increase foreign aid, create a ‘civilian national security force’ that was just a well-funded as the U.S. military, his wife said he’d fix our ‘broken souls,’ and he said he’d make the oceans stop rising, all without increasing the deficit. The amazing thing is he thought it was all true. He makes Jimmy Carter look like he should be on Mt. Rushmore.”

Another advisor compared Obama to Max Bialystock, the con man from the Mel Brooks’ film “The Producers.” In the movie, Bialystock sells 100% ownership of the play to dozens of investors. “Barack Obama sold 100% shares in his presidency to every constituency imaginable and they all thought they were at the front of the line after inauguration day.”

Interesting take on an Obama presidency… sad thing is, it could all happen based upon Obama’s stated plans and policies.

“Mark my words, mark my words, it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world’s looking. (…) Watch, we’re gonna have an international crises, a generated crises, to test the mettle of this guy. (…) I guarantee you it’s gonna happen.” - Senator Joe Biden

“I think he can be ready but right now I don’t believe he is. The president is not something that lends itself to on the job training” – Senator Joe Biden

“I would be honored to run with or against John McCain because I think the country would be better off” – Senator Joe Biden

When you vote, you will most certainly vote for the best interest of our country, your family, yourself. I believe we all believe we are voting for the right man or woman when we vote. No one will know who we voted for unless we tell them, so there is no reason on this Earth for us to vote any other way than what we believe is the right way.

Joe Biden must support his running mate, it’s his job. But before he was the VP candidate, and even after when he thought no one was recording his message, he has expressed concern that Barack Obama is just not ready to lead. That is a serious concern that should be factored into our decision when we pull the lever on November 4th.

If the next president is tested, whoever he may be, will he be ready?

If we elect Barack Obama, will we significantly increase the likelihood of an attack as Joe Biden warns?

Do we want to take a chance? And why? For change?

Words, only words. No track record, no experience, no accomplishments… already breaking campaign promises before he is even elected, because promises are only words.

John McCain is not the best campaigner, weaving words into a cloak of deception or inspiration is not his strong suite; inspirational actions, a record of accomplishment, true bipartisan accomplishment… those are what make John McCain the clear choice.

Nearly eight years without an attack on US soil; let’s not let our guard down and believe we are safe. Let’s not give the terrorists hope. This is not the time to roll the dice, we must choose leadership that is prepared to lead and who will not invite a test… because a test, even if we pass, may result in devastating loss. We know it can happen, because it already did:

I have now heard at least three versions of the Obama “tax cut” threshold. The Obama campaign has told us:

those making less than $250k will get a tax cut

those that make less than $250k will not get a tax increase but those under $200k will get a tax cut

those who make less than $250k will not get a tax increase but those under $150k will get a tax cut…

Wait a week and it will probably go down to $100k.

If it goes much lower, only people who currently pay no income tax will get a “tax cut”… so if you pay income tax today, your money will be handed to someone not paying income tax … nope, nothing socialistic about that.

Oh, by the way… I heard one campaign rep point out that the “tax cut” would not necessarily be in the first year or two, that it likely will not happen until later inan Obama first term.

Hey, if you elect me I promise that by the end of my first term we will eliminate all income tax, that 10 yeqars from now when I am out of office we will be independent of foreign oil (oh wait, Obama already made that promise), and that we will eliminate all disease of any kind by the year 3,000…. vote for me!
